The Bay Audio Pc in-ceiling speakers combine the best advances in speaker performance with a small, thin-bezel grille designers demand.

Let’s talk performance first.

Hey, it only takes a second to see how elegant the new Pc Series looks. So let’s concentrate on the fun stuff: how we crammed so much performance into such a small footprint.

You see, other speaker companies took a, shall we say, lazy approach to accomplish a thin bezel. They took their existing designs and made a pie-tin sized grille to cover the whole shebang. OK — thin bezel, but almost 12″ in diameter? Really?

We take aesthetics a bit more seriously. So we started with a 9-1/4″ diameter grille frame and engineered a radically new set of bass units that provide the output and response of our 8″ units in a 15% smaller basket.

It’s all in the power handling.

The key to improving bass response lies with the voice coil. Pc bass units use a voice coil 25% larger than you’ll find in virtually any other in-ceiling speaker. A larger voice coil handles more power, keeps the cone in precise alignment, and allows us to eke out extra bass. It also reduces the amount of high frequency coming off the cone, dramatically improving off-axis response.

Which is why we designed a better tweeter.

Our all-new silk-dome Pc tweeter uses a tuned, poly-filled chamber behind the dome. Having a defined airspace behind the dome allows us to lower the crossover frequency (for better dispersion) and improve power handling (for more loud).

Five models in the line.

All Pc models have a metallized plastic frame, which stays strong and rigid for improved midrange clarity. The Pc5 is the base model in the line-up. The Pc5d is a stereo (dual voice coil) version, and the Pc5m is a weather-resistant version with zinc plated and powder coated grilles and stainless steel hardware.

The Pc8 uses a neoprene damping sheet for additional frame isolation, and an enhanced crossover network for improved off-axis response. The Pc9 is our top-of-the-line in-ceiling speaker, with a rigid 1″ MDF baffle, bypass caps throughout the network for stunning clarity and broad off-axis response, and a great silk-dome tweeter for enhanced clarity in the upper region.

We’re introducing a radical new approach to backboxes: the Muffler. This innovative backwave enclosure gives all the benefits of a traditional backbox, including a 9 dB drop in transmitted frequency in adjoining rooms (above 200 Hz). Plus, it’s plenum rated, and can be used in new construction and retrofit installations.

We developed an acoustically novel skinned foam.

The foam is soft enough to squish into a retrofit cutout, but dense enough to act like a 1″ thick MDF backbox, blocking sonic transmission into adjoining rooms.

Like MDF backboxes, the Muffler attenuates frequencies above 200 Hz a minimum of 9 dB.

Dimensions

Unfolded, the Muffler measures 12-1/2 x 10-1/2″ (318 x 267 mm), with a depth of 5-1/2″ (140mm) into the ceiling. But the beauty of the Muffler is its pliability. So if your ceiling depth is only 4″, the Muffler conforms to the given space, providing all the same benefits.

You’ll love how easy it is to install.

For new construction, install a pair of BR68 brackets to “claim the space.” Install the Muffler later, at the same you install the speakers.

For retrofit, simply push the Muffler into your cutout prior to installing the speaker. A folding bracket and drywall clips hold the Muffler snug to the ceiling, eliminating air gaps. The speaker installs as usual.

The Muffler will be available November 2011.

Live-Wall Subwoofer: The first high performance hidden sub!

Coming this November: the greatest advance in subwoofer technology: a completely hidden subwoofer with real subwoofer performance.

This is a real subwoofer.

The LWSub is a direct radiating, point-source hidden speaker system. Using the same technology (and visual “trick”) of the acclaimed LW1218, the LWSub provides 105 dB of bass to 25 Hz. That’s really remarkable!

Other manufacturers of “hidden” speakers simply mount a woofer in the wall and try to play it as loud as possible to provide bass. In essence, they’ve created a speaker within a box — and you can hear the deficiencies immediately.

In contrast, the LWSub has impact, punch, and real musicality. Add one to a pair of LW1218 satellites and you have a hidden full-range, musical audio system.

Use for small to mid-sized theaters.

Putting a bedroom system together? Use one LWSub. Doing a mixed media room? Use one LWSub for every 3,000 ft³ of space in the listening area.

Installation requires the LWSub Backbox.

With so much bass energy, the LWSub needs a backbox firmly attached to studs. The 45″ tall LWSub box fits between 16″ on center studs. Installation is straightforward: Mount the box to the studs. Install the drywall. Cut a hole for the speaker. Mount the speaker. Tape, mud, paint.

You can use hot or cold mud, plaster, even wallpaper.

Shipping November 2011.

The MiniBar is our answer to ultra-thin TV’s — with a total depth, including grille, of only 1-1/2″.

Each channel of the MiniBar has dual 2″ midrange drivers, and a 1″ silk dome tweeter. Midrange and high frequency performance is identical to our full-range bars.

You will need a subwoofer.

The MiniBar extends to 160 Hz (-6dB). Which means you’ll need a subwoofer that can extend up to about 200 Hz. The JMSub or the TC10 Sub, run full-range, will do the trick.

Thru-holes for easy mounting.

We provide four thru-holes on the MiniBar for simple attachment directly to the wall. If you want to articulate the TV and speaker, we recommend using the Chief Fusion series brackets. Our thru-holes are placed to work with the Fusion Center Channel Accessory bracket, and the Fusion Left Right Accessory bracket.

Custom-built for your TV.

All MiniBars are custom built to the exact width of the TV. When using MiniBars vertically, we will custom size them to the height of TV, and create a two-channel version for left/right and dual center use. We finish the MiniBar with a matte black paint and black cloth-covered grille.

The most intelligent approach to outdoor audio. 12 mounting options. You will love the Park [...]

The most intelligent approach to outdoor audio.

12 mounting options.

You will love the Park Stevens PS4 Landscape Speaker. Smaller than a paperback book, with a surprising amount of punch and bass, this 100% aluminum speaker is the basis for our 12-option mounting system.

Free of the constraints associated with typical outdoor products, the Park Stevens system uses an ingenious speaker + mount system for discrete placement in every outdoor environment.

House mounting.

Use the flush mount wall kit to mount the speaker flat to a surface, as shown above. Use the ceiling/wall kit to mount the speaker pendulum style from above or to to decks, railings, and fireplaces.

Ground mounting.

Use the garden spike to place the PS4 along a pathway, in the garden, or in a flower pot. Use the multi-mount adaptor to run two PS4′s in a V pattern in corners.

Direct burial.

For a nearly invisible installation, bury the PS4 directly into the ground, facing up. The hard-anodized 100% aluminum enclosure is waterproof and impervious to ground freezing. Leveling rings keep the speaker face slightly above ground height. For protection, use the Top Hat kit, or flat rock shroud. Both blend seamlessly with the surroundings.

Four PS4 models and two colors to choose from.

The PS4 comes in four varieties: a single driver 8 ohm and 70V version, and a dual driver 8 ohm and 70V version.

Use the single driver model for garden and direct burial applications. Use the dual driver version for flush-to-the-wall mounting. The dual driver model can be wired in stereo or mono.

The PS10 subwoofer is just as versatile.

Measuring about 13 x 15″, the all-aluminum enclosed PS10 subwoofer follows the same speaker + mount strategy. There are four ways to mount a PS10. Use the deck kit to strap the subwoofer underneath a deck or patio. Use the spike kit for garden and pathway mounting. Use the direct burial bandpass kit with the Top Hat or rock shroud when hiding in the ground. Or place the subwoofer on any flat surface — no mounting kit required.

Two ways to wire the system: 70V or 8 ohm.

The PS4 speakers can be run 8 ohm or 70V. The PS10 subwoofer is 8 ohm. The Park Stevens multi-mode amplifier can run 8 ohm, 70V, or a combination of the two. You can string 6 PS4 70V speakers and 1 PS10 subwoofers from a single Park Stevens amplifier.

Unrivaled sound quality.

The PS4 is the smallest, loudest, broadest frequency range weatherproof speaker available. Without question. Inside the aluminum housing is a water-resistant high-output driver that delivers 90 dB of SPL at 20 feet away with 32 watts of power. With bass response to 68 Hz (-6dB), the PSE4 is a great standalone speaker.

The PS10 subwoofer, with its 3″ voice coil, aluminum cone, and water-resistant construction, plays loud to 28 Hz. We recommend one PS10 subwoofer for every 6 PS4 speakers for balanced sound.

Built for the long run.

The PS4 speaker uses an aluminum enclosure powder coated black or white. You can paint the either version to match your home. All exposed hardware, including the mounting hardware, is either aluminum or stainless steel. There are no terminals on the speaker, rather a set of wire leads is drawn from the enclosure through a marine-grade sealed barrier. Behind the die-cast aluminum grille is a sheet of water-resistant fabric that stops moisture, yet is acoustically invisible. To combat melting snow and water from sprinklers, discrete drainage holes around the driver pull standing water away. For systems wired with conduit, we offer a conduit coupling device to eliminate speaker wire degradation.
