These ultra-compact high power handling cabinet speakers work great for receiver-based theaters. Custom-built drivers and TransientEdge™ crossover topology combine for excellent bass response with low THD.
Uncompromising build quality.
We build TC cabinets from high density MDF, veneered inside and out. Veneering the cabinets internally –also called a balancing sheet–helps the cabinet resist warping and cracking as humidity and temperature change in the home. Our cabinets are heavily braced on the inside to quell and cabinet resonances, which is why Bay Audio TC speakers tend to be quite a bit heavier than others.
We offer our speakers in a black painted ash veneer. However, we will build the speaker to match any veneer or paint sample you provide.
Soft-focus fabric grilles are optional, and are not required.
Model TC60
This traditional sized bookshelf speaker has the output of a typical tower speaker, allowing you to place them in out-of-the-way places, like cabinets and shelving. Available in black ash painted veneer, or any custom veneer or paint you choose.
The TC60 uses our custom-built long throw 6-1/2 bass unit. Bass extends to 36 Hz, meaning you can use the TC60 in mid-sized theater systems and cross them over at 40 Hz for multiple sources of bass in the room. Few bookshelf speakers can handle the power and demands of a movie soundtrack like the TC60. And since the speaker is easy to drive, it matches well with receiver-based systems.
Model TC42
This MTM (midrange-tweeter-midrange) design is typically used as a horizontal center channel in a TC-based theater. With dual 4″ custom-built bass units for rich midrange. Our 1″ silk-dome tweeter spreads sound evenly throughout the room.
Like all Bay Audio center channel speakers, the TC40 uses our Vocal Integrity tuning system, with enhanced energy in the consonance region (from 12,000 to 17,000 Hz). It is here that spoken consonants are most prevalent. By enhancing the energy in this region, dialog is crisper and easier to understand — as far as 20 feet from the speaker. With broad horizontal dispersion, the TC42 fills the entire listening area with clean, discernible dialog.
Model TC40
This small bookshelf speaker will astound you with its performance. With bass to 62 Hz, and 102 dB of output with 100 watts of power, these speakers sound like they are much larger. We use our custom-built 4″ aluminum cone midrange and our 1″ silk dome tweeter for great performance. Plus, the rigid, braced MDF cabinet eliminates midrange and bass anomalies.
The TC40 accepts a swiveling wall-mount bracket, sold separately.
